With a passion for sailing and the water that began in his youth, drawing from his extensive experience as a collegiate sailor, Mike was an All-American sailor at Old Dominion University, where he honed his skills in competitive racing and leadership. His commitment to excellence further propelled him into the world of professional sailing, where he served as captain for both a Ker 50 and an Andrew 70 sailboat.  These positions have allowed him to gain invaluable insights into the complexities of sailing performance, and various marine systems.

Mike’s work as a yacht captain, propelled him into a career in the commercial real estate world. He has worked with distinguished firms such as Rand Construction, Property Group Partners and CBRE, where he excelled as a Portfolio Manager and Senior Construction Manager. Throughout his career, he has managed projects for developers, law firms, and associations clients totaling over $1 billion, demonstrating his ability to handle substantial investments and navigate complex projects and transactions transactions.

Mike boasts over 30,000 miles of offshore racing experience, competing in multiple Newport to Bermuda races, Transpacific yacht races, as well as multiple races to Mexico to name a few.  His experiences have not only shaped him into a seasoned sailor but also provided him with a profound understanding of the intricacies of yacht ownership, performance, and maintenance. He combines this knowledge with his keen insight into the yacht market, ensuring that his clients receive expert guidance tailored to their unique needs.

Outside of sailing and real estate, Mike is also an enthusiastic power boater and avid fisherman. He enjoys pursuing both inshore and offshore species, further deepening his connection to the water and understanding of various vessels.
