The Bowman 42 is the successful collaboration of top cruising yacht designer Chuck Paine and the exceptional Bowman craftsman team.  Built for comfortable ocean cruising, the Bowman 42 is robust with a quality of construction that inspires confidence even in the most challenging conditions. Delivering sparkling performance, Penoliam can still be easily handled by a crew of just two.

The yacht features a fore cabin with double V-berth and private ensuite, and there is a double cabin in the aft and two single berths in the saloon.

The comfortable saloon has a U-shaped settee, ample storage, and a large dining table with a convenient folding leaf.  The navigation area comprises a forward-facing chart table positioned with great storage. Positioned aft of the saloon, the galley is spacious and practical with twin sinks, a top-access cold box, and generous stowage lockers for extended cruising.

Penoliam has a solid hull laminated and supported by full-length longitudinal stringers that provide integral hull strength. Hand lay-up of the GRP helps to ensure consistency in the laminate, and meticulous care has been taken in the selection of all deck fittings to ensure they will withstand the rigors of severe weather conditions.

Penoliam has two dedicated cabins for sleeping with the provision for using the 2 salon berths, with lee cloths for sleeping as well. They have plenty of room for storage with adequate lighting and a hatch overhead.

Both cabins have their own head with showers. The aft head's shower is en suite and is also used as a wet locker for sailing gear.

The heads feature a manual Lavac head, sink, vanity, mirror, and  holding tank.

The hot water capacity is 15 gallons.

The galley is aft of the main salon to the port.
