This 1987 Hylas 44, Alice in Wonderland, is a well-maintained offshore cruiser, built by the renowned Queen Long Shipyard and designed by German Frers. She has proven her capabilities with long ocean passages, including an Atlantic crossing.
Current owners, professional yacht captain and engineer with over 20 years of experience in the super yacht industry, have mostly lived onboard since 2018, winter cruising season in the Caribbean with our 22-month-old who has basically grown up onboard.
With a strong focus on self-sufficiency, she boasts a robust solar setup, ample storage, and a water maker, making her ideal for extended cruising.
The construction includes an impressive stiffening network of full length fore and aft stringers and transverse floors. The deck is balsa or Airex cored and fastened to the hull via stainless bolts and 5200. Chainplates are massive and tie into glassed over stainless-steel I-beams. Queen Long was already well known for their Kelly Petersons and Stevens 47's before producing the Hylas 44. She was designed by the German Frees and the H44 is regarded as a great world cruiser fast and solid with great sea keeping abilities.
They have crossed the Atlantic from Cap Verde to Martinique in 16 days with just two people onboard, averaging 150nm days in good offshore conditions.
Owners would consider delivering the boat anywhere worldwide if the right deal is made with a new owner. Most maintenance completed onboard by owner.

The hull, deck and superstructure is built of solid hand laminated reinforced fiberglass. Construction stiffened by moulded stiffeners and glassed/bonded in place interior mouldings, interior joinery and bulkheads in fiberglass covered with wood and semi bulkheads in wood. The stratified beams in the hull distribute the forces over the entire bottom surface. The hull floats on the waterline.
The external shell is sound and inspected and found to be free from signs of distortion, delamination or major damage.
The surfaces above and under waterline are in satisfactory condition with no signs of apparent damages at the moment of the survey, except some little superficial scratches above waterline.
There is no visible blistering that would indicate the presence of the phenomenon of hydrolysis in the underbody.
