OUR HISTORY
A BEACON OF ITALIAN MARITIME EXCELLENCE
Grand Soleil Yachts, a beacon of Italian maritime excellence, embarked on its illustrious journey in 1973 with the launch of the Grand Soleil 34 Finot, marking the beginning of a legacy in crafting high-quality sailing vessels. The late 1970s witnessed the emergence of a diverse range of models, including the GS 35, GS 41, and the legendary GS 39, many of which were masterfully designed by Alain Jézéquel. The 1990s ushered in a collaboration with the esteemed designer Germán Frers, resulting in iconic models such as the GS 42, GS 45, and GS 52, affectionately dubbed "Spaghetti Swan" due to their resemblance to renowned Finnish yachts. This era solidified Grand Soleil's reputation for blending Italian flair with superior performance. In 2020, the introduction of the GS 40, designed by Massimo Paperini, showcased a harmonious fusion of classic elegance and modern innovation, offering versatility for both competitive racing and leisurely cruising.
Throughout its history, Grand Soleil has epitomized the essence of Italian craftsmanship, continuously evolving to meet the aspirations of sailing enthusiasts worldwide. In recent years, Grand Soleil Yachts has embarked on a new chapter of innovation and excellence by collaborating with esteemed naval architect Matteo Polli and the renowned Nauta Design team. This partnership has led to the creation of the Grand Soleil 52 Performance, a yacht that harmoniously blends performance with luxury, reflecting the brand's commitment to cutting-edge design and superior craftsmanship. Furthering their pursuit of excellence, Grand Soleil introduced the GS Plus line, a series of semi-custom yachts ranging from 65 to 80 feet. This exclusive range offers discerning sailors the opportunity to personalize their vessels, ensuring each yacht is a unique reflection of its owner's vision. The GS Plus line represents a significant advancement in delivering unparalleled sailing experiences, combining Italian elegance with innovative design and exceptional performance. The flagship of this line, the Grand Soleil Plus 80 Long Cruise, epitomizes this philosophy. With its sleek lines, state-of-the-art technology, and luxurious interiors, it stands as a testament to Grand Soleil's dedication to redefining excellence in the yachting industry. Through these strategic collaborations and the introduction of the GS Plus line, Grand Soleil Yachts continues to honor its rich heritage while embracing the future, offering yachts that are not only vessels but also expressions of art, passion, and the timeless allure of the sea.
